Alexandre Meerson is an independent luxury watch brand founded by a Frenchman but with its base in the UK. Recently Meerson launched his most sporty design to date, the D15 MK-1 GMT. With a case sculpted from grey gold and Grade 5 titanium, GMT hand, faceted lugs and intricately engraved multi-level dial, the D15 Mk-1 GMT is built with the gentleman traveller in mind.
The Meerson D15 is a handsome and rugged watch with dual-time functionality. The model’s case engineering and architecture ensure that the watch is lightweight and waterproof to 100 meters. With ease of legibility, even at difficult angles and with stylish, carved numerals, the blue superluminova offers a striking night vision capability.
At 44mm in diameter, the MEERSON D15 makes a statement has a slim profile and subtle styling. In addition to its trademark geometric styling, the D15 MK-1 GMT carries the signature of the house: sapphire crystal glass gently concaved at the back to fit the wrist like a ‘second skin’.
The watch runs on a Vaucher Fleurier movement and Dubois Dupraz module for the GMT function. Meerson, who comes from a family of watchmakers, launched his brand last year and is headquartered in Surrey. The watch comes on bespoke Louisiana alligator or Barenia calf leather straps as well as other exotic strap materials he is developing including Nile Perch, Wolf Fish and Salmon.
Unusually for a luxury watch brand, Alexandre Meerson sells direct through the company’s website and only works with retailers who can fulfil certain criteria, such as seated areas so that the pieces can be fully explained to customers. The company currently works with Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris and AceJewellers in Amsterdam as retail partners. The D15 Mk-1 GMT will be available from September in three models, True Blue, Silvered White and Eternity Black, priced from £13,500.
