Bulova, whose Head Office is in the Empire State Building, has just announced its partnership with Empire State Realty Trust as the official timekeeper of the 40th annual Empire State Building Run-Up (ESBRU).
The event, presented by Marmot, is set for February 1, 2017. Thousands of runners from around the world will enter all vying for a chance to race up the Empire State Building’s famed 86 flights and 1,576 steps. The run-up record was set in 2003 by Paul Crake of Australia in a time of 9 minutes and 33 seconds.
The move into the Empire State Building in 2015 brought Bulova back to its roots, and the brand sees its involvement with the tower run as staying true to its heritage.
Coinciding with Bulova’s partnership with the Empire State Realty Trust and the ESBRU, Bulova will be the official timekeeper of the race and will also celebrate the male and female first place winners by providing them with Bulova watches.
