An independent jury consisting of almost 50 international watch experts bestowed the very first Watchstars Awards in five categories. Watch specialists such as Christian Pfeiffer-Belli, Gisbert L. Brunner, Uhren Magazin Editor-in-chief Thomas Wanka, watch-blogger Robert-Jan Broer, and Chronos Editor-in-chief Rüdiger Bucher nominated the brands and models that the jury would later select from to determine the award winners.
