Anglo Swiss manufacture Arnold & Son has released a new reference of its Time Pyramid powered by the hand finished A&S1615 calibre. The new timepiece is treated in NAC grey and housed in a stainless steel case. The A&S1615 movement with unique skeletonised pyramid-shaped architecture, was conceived, designed and developed in-house. The movement A&S1615 seemingly floats between two sapphire crystals. The watch forms part of the brand’s Instrument Collection that combines instrument precision with classic styling.

We featured Greubel Forsey’s take on a dual time watch earlier this week, launched in 2011 and now offered in a 950 platinum variation, appropriately called Platinum GMT. Not to be outdone, JLC has released a pink gold version of its Duomètre Unique Travel Time. Originally unveiled last year at SIHH 2013, the watch is said to be the first world-time watch enabling to-the-minute adjustment of the second time zone. This feature enables travellers to accurately set the second time zone on all continents and countries regardless of the time difference.

The 2014 Winter Olympic Games get under way in Sochi, Russia on February 7 and are scheduled to run till February 23. The Games will have over 100,000 armed security guards, more security personnel than participating athletes, because amongst others, Czechen rebels have said they will be targeting the event. None of which has prevented OMEGA from serving once again as official timekeeper. To commemorate the 2014 Games, OMEGA has released a 100 piece limited-edition watch with a decidedly Russian look and feel to it. It’s called the OMEGA Sochi Petrograd.
