This year's highlight from the world of fine watches is just around the corner: Because from 19-26 March, watch aficionados will once again rendezvous at Baselworld 2015. And you can marvel at four new timepieces from Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte at the world's largest watch trade fair.
More than ever faithful to its philosophy of offering fine watchmaking at affordable prices, the independent brand from Le Noirmont is offering a new version of its regulator this year. This emblematic model from its collection embodies a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements. The heritage of historical precision instruments appears on the hour subdial at 12 o’clock, bearing finely traced Roman numerals.
Le Rhöne’s first model is the Road Racer. Its shape and design evoke the glorious days of American Pony cars of the 1960s. More specifically, for its first collection, the Chevrolet Camaro SS 1969 is the source of inspiration as considered as a mythical car, awakening passion, strength and freedom.
Already serving as “official supplier to world aviation” in the 1950s and 60s, Breitling now finds inspiration in a model from that era to present its new Chronoliner. This chronometer certified by the COSC, like all Breitling chronographs, is pursuing the brand’s longstanding aeronautical tradition in a spirit that is both modern and timeless.
It’s been a while since we matched a watch or two with some envy inducing shoes, so with Baselworld 2015 just around the corner, we have matched a selection of brand new Pre-Baselworld watches with some of the most refined shoes money can buy. No question, any of these combinations will be a Basel head turner.
As Apple Pay and Android Pay (coming on stream in May 2015) continue to increase in popularity, San Francisco based WaterField Designs has decided that the typical wallet should be replaced with a more streamlined and downsized model. Enter the Spike Wallet, a minimalist, all-leather case designed to carry loyalty cards, receipts, transit cards and a few bills.
Right from its inception in 2006, Zeitwinkel has been positioned as an independent high-end Swiss watch manufacturer. The central core of every Zeitwinkel watch is the in-house manufacture movement which was developed over a period of four years.
Raidillon is a racing inspired brand from Belgium. Raidillon refers to a dangerous bend on a mythical racing circuit, Spa-Francorchamps. Next to the Raidillon logo is the number 55, which represents the maximum number of vehicles permitted to take part in certain races in the past.
Last year at Baselworld, Speake Marin presented a steel version of the Velsheda. This year the brand presents a gleaming new model in a red gold case, retaining its blued hand to indicate time and with its superimposed ‘topping tool’ motifs in the centre of the dial.
This year, well known golfing watch brand Jaermann & Stübi will be appearing at Hall 1 at Baselworld. The brand has always striven to develop products in support of worthy causes, so in 2015, the brand has decided to continue in this vein, taking an active role in the fight against cancer. In parallel to this, Jaermann & Stübi is developing its flagship collection, the 'Stroke Play Collection'.
