Christopher Ward’s Ultimate Dive Watch – the New lightweight C11 Titanium Elite Chronometer Limited Edition

C11 Titanium Elite Chronometer
£750
Pre-order from the end of January 2013
It’s been worth waiting for… Christopher Ward’s first ever titanium watch is also the most significant addition to brand’s dive collection. Made from the lustrous metal which is as strong as steel but 45% lighter, the watch’s beautifully engineered case incorporates an internal countdown bezel. Titanium’s remarkable anti-corrosive properties together with a screw-down helium release valve protects the COSC certified ETA 2824-2 automatic movement which has a 38-hour power reserve.
Water resistant to 500m, the C11 Titanium Elite Chronometer has a backplate engraved with a Makaira marlin and the words ‘Explorare ad Profundum Altum’, which roughly translates as ‘Explore the Depths’ as well as an individual serial number – between 1 and 500. The watch comes with a high density rubber strap – the choice of most professional divers.
The C11 Titanium Elite Chronometer has a black face and bright SuperLuminova indexes, bezel markings and hands as well as museum grade crystal for maximum visibility – as it is rare for there to be any discernible light below depths of 200m.
As well as the bezel pusher, which controls the internal rotating dive bezel, the watch has one of the finest Swiss made helium release valves – which guarantees the watch won’t explode, whatever decompression process a diver adopts. Having already created some of the most complex parts for both Christopher Ward’s C900 Harrison Single Pusher Chronograph and its C9 Harrison Jumping Hour, the specialist manufacturer, FIMM, owned by Bertrand Crevoisier, was commissioned to create the bespoke valves.
As well as encapsulating outstanding technical performance and COSC certified accuracy, Christopher Ward’s C11 Titanium Elite oozes an unmistakeable authority and style. The glances it inevitably prompts from other divers and watch connoisseurs become all the more covetous when they discover that it is one of a limited edition of just 500 pieces worldwide.
