To mark its 130th anniversary, French brand SAINT HONORÉ designed a series of collector’s timepieces: the first ever to be made from a piece of metal girder from the world’s most famous monument.
SAINT HONORÉ has used this precious component to make the bezel, its decoration and brown color an unmistakable reference to the French landmark.
The bezel surrounds a raised dial based on the same architecture; at its center, it reveals the wheel train of the automatic mechanical movement specially personalized by SAINT HONORÉ.
For 2017, SAINT HONORÉ reveals a 64-piece limited edition of this exceptional timepiece. In one version the small seconds hand is replaced by a stylized wheel which evokes the Eiffel Tower red elevators.
In partnership with the Eiffel Tower Operating Committee, SAINT HONORÉ was provided with 200 kg of iron dating from 1885, taken from the Eiffel Tower Arch. This was melted and processed with 15% chrome to produce a stainless-steel bezel.
The watches are powered by a Sellita SW 360-1 automatic movement and retail at €2,990 in 18k rose gold with the stylized wheel, and €2,490 in stainless-steel.
