For 2019 Patek Philippe introduces reference 5172G, a white gold chronograph, to replace the entire reference 5170 that was first introduced back in 2010.

Patek Philippe’s manual-wound CH 29-535 PS chronograph calibre, originally introduced in a ladies’ watch in 2009, has been used in the men’s 5170 series since 2010 and will continue to be used in the new 5172G-001, the fifth iteration.

The movement has six patented innovations that optimize the chronograph function, including refined tooth profiles, blocking lever and hammers and an optimized split-seconds wheel.

The white gold case of the 41mm 5172-001 has vintage-style three-tier stepped lugs and a sapphire box glass crystal, as well as guilloched chronograph pushers. The dial features bold luminous Arabic numerals, syringe style hands, round pushers, and a matching navy calfskin strap with top-stitching.
