Bucherer BLUE EDITIONS has collaborated with Breguet to produce the Marine 5517 model featuring a deep blue engine-turned dial, paired with a titanium case, a first for this model range.
Bucherer and Breguet have worked closely together for a number of years. The luxurious Marine 5517 sports watch serves as a fitting homage to Abraham-Louis Breguet, who, at the decree of King Louis XVIII in 1815, was awarded the title of “Watchmaker to the French Royal Navy” the most prestigious for a watchmaker of the day.
Breguet has reinterpreted the design of its Marine collection, while lending a modern touch to its signature features, such as the fluted case band and the famous “moon” tip hands.
The Breguet Marine 5517 Bucherer BLUE EDITIONS was designed for those who value the finest craftsmanship. A first for the new Marine line is the light yet sturdy 40 mm titanium case, resistant to salty air and corrosion, and paired with an intense blue dial.
As the only model in the Marine 5517 series, this special edition features a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals. The classic Breguet hands in white gold are coated with a luminescent material. The deep blue of the watch reveals a wave pattern executed by hand on a rose engine. The crown has wave-shaped embellishments and a distinctive ‘B’ that stands for Breguet.
The reverse side of the watch reveals the design of the rotor, reminiscent of a ship’s wheel. The bridges of the movement are like those of a ship’s deck, decorated with Geneva stripes and enhanced with a guilloche technique that can be admired through the sapphire-glass case back.
The 40 mm watch runs on a mechanical automatic movement with a 55-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
