The official start of Omega watches came in 1848 at the hands of Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, though it wasn’t until 1903 that the name Omega was officially registered. The brand’s watches were soon adopted by both Swiss combat units and the United States army. An Omega watch was also the first watch on the moon. Omega has been the official timekeeping device of the Olympic Games since 1932.
