Proudly wearing Enicar AR 167 that took months to fix. This is the 2nd AR-167 I own. It was in non running condition. The dial is just too beautiful, I had to save it. The procedure involved two donor movements, with mainspring and automatic mechanism transplants. A fresh reflector ring crystal was also ordered. After I set the time and date, it's been running spot on during the past 12 hours.
Although in hindsight, a NOS would probably be cheaper, but fixing an AR 167 was a priceless experience. As we know it's the base movement for many of Chronoswiss models. And I ended up with all these spare parts. Here we honor those that had to be sacrificed:
My humble work bench...really just a coffee table with a piece of white paper.

Hello back! Yes not too many marcel & Cie going round. There's usually a couple going on the bay all the time (i keep looking since i found this one!), but normally less than 10 at any one time i reckon. Mine is triple signed made in France which i thought was a bit unique, even on the movement which is a landeron 149 (if memory serves me correctly) which are obviously made in Switzerland, not France!
Your's is beautiful by the way, look absolutely pristine from the photo. Great find!
Gotta love that Portuguese day wheel. Yes, yes I am immature enough that for the first few years I had this watch I wore it every Thursday and changed from English days to Portuguese.
Took it in for a professional service two weeks ago, I chickened out servicing myself due to the rarity of the movement. Oh how I missed it these days. Finally got it back and I'm enjoying it on a rather stylish strap:
Rolex 'VICEROY' also termed 'plage' (French for beach)
It was Rolex's first move from round shape to a straight line/angular shape
Here is mine
