i think the PAM111 ( it is Sandwich dial) looks AMAZING on the wrist, classic Panerai but it has ETA movement and it s manual
Omega has very nice wrist presence but it s kinda big, even on my 7" wrist, the 8500 cal- liquid Metal and new grade5 titanium is a HUGE plus

opinions appreciated!
having a chance to get them at pretty much same price and have to make decision super soon!
-current collection ,Rolex GMTiiC ,Omega SMP Ceramic Chrono( black) , Omega Aqua Terra Chrono ( ivory)

I'm an Omega fanboy but I say PAM 111 just to mix up the collection a bit

I see you already have a couple of Omegas--do you want another?

Other than being divers, these watches seem completely different--you might not be able to make a decision until you see both on your wrist.

Personally, I find the Omega more interesting, but not sure I would want a PO and SMP both in my box. Maybe get the PO AND the PAM, and flip the SMP?

Nice dilemma to have!

Cheers,

Spida

I love Panerai but I really question the price. When you look at all the detail that goes into other watches, like that Omega, I'm not sure Panerai's simplicity (which I love) should command such a high price. That Ti Omega also comes in 42mm if that fits your wrist better.

Whichever you like the most. But just so that you're aware....the ti PO comes in a 42mm, as Perseus mentions above. Also, have you looked at the Pam 392? Same sandwich dial as what you seem to like, but brushed case (so, sorta ti look) and in-house 9000 auto mvmt (if you'd rather not have a manual eta).

I say sell one of your other Omegas and get the Omega. I like Panerais in general but just the regular joe model in stainless doesn't do it for me. The Omega is both a better watch in the movement sense and has more character and uniqueness.

Go Panerai. You will love it :))

Thanks for the inputs guys , I might gonna have to stop by @ omega boutique to try a blue ti42mm ones.I tried a regular black cal8500 42mm side by side with my GMTiiC and surprised that it actually wears smaller than my 40mm gmt, prolly because of matt bezel vs Rolex gloss bezel. I am omega fanboy and had a cal 2500 PO 45.5 before so PO always have a place in my heart ! But I always want a Panerai even I feel that they are the most overpriced watch in the industry right now lol. Last time I almost pull a trigger on PAM 359 but ended up with the Rolex GMTiiC instead!( no regret tho)

two very different watches. I have never really cared for the looks of PAM's so the PO would be my choice out of those two.

For added interest I would say Panerai, BUT not the 111 (despite owning one). I would suggest the 510 or 564. For just a little more money thay have the 8 day P. 5000 in-house movement and the same general aesthetics as the 111. The 564 is titanium and has the brown dial if you want something a little different. If have had my 111 for over ten years but if the 510 was out then I would have bought it instead in a heartbeat. I have both the 563 and 564 and they are steller watches.

Panerai is polarizing to say the least, you will love or hate it.

In comparison the PO is more traditional and "vanilla".

For the 111, might as well get the 510 with the 8days movement, those gets a better discount and you'll be surprise how much you can knock off the sticker with it.

i went with the PO

i just feel that i should always have a PO in my collection since the cal 2500 XL i sold was my 1st real nice watch, and my wife really think that the 45.5 one look better on my 7" wrist than the 42mm after a visit to omega boutique.not to mention that it's kinda hard to find a blue face watch that looks this good!
pics coming soon!

Congratulations. I have the same watch (PO Ti 45.5) along with the GMTc and a 7" wrist. I think the titanium is a huge advantage to wearing such a large watch. Despite the size difference, the PO 45.5 and the GMTc both weigh the same (within a few grams of each other) hence I can interchange between them without noticing a difference.

Different watches with entirely different character.

I've never owned the LM PO, but had an older PO that was a great watch. I regret selling it sometimes.

I had a pristine 111 for a few years & loved it, but sold it to move to some other PAM models. I regret selling it all the time.
