Panerai Luminor 40mm Strap question

Hi everyone,

I recently acquired a 40mm Panerai which has 22mm lug width. It already comes on a black strap but I was hoping to add a brown OEM strap as well. I came across this website http://www.watchbandsource.com and was wondering if the straps were authentic. Has anyone bought from them before? It is hard to find OEM straps and I will appreciate any other suggestions as well.

Warning: you are getting into a very addictive hobby!!

i have been looking around myself. The great beauty of these watches is they lend themselves so well to so many styles of strap! I have been Asking a few OEM questions too. I had some thrown in with a new purchase, but there're a few things to consider about OEM Panerai straps:
- they are really nice, but really, really expensive!
- they are often faked (much like the watches themselves), so you need to know your stuff or fork out (in my opinion, way too much money) at an official dealer
- as per the link, the choices are otherwise endless

So up to you, but for the price of OEM, you could get 3 very high quality straps in 3 different styles! Maybe the black as you suggested, plus an Isofrane rubber plus a NATO?

Hey no probs! Told you it was addictive mate! Oh - just look at a Google Pics search for your PAM49 and you'll see lots of combinations. That's the thing. On yours, you use a black or brown alligator and it's quite elegant and formal, but then you try an Isofrane dive strap and it's suddenly sporty, or a stripy NATO and it's summery cool, or a vintage rough finish leather, and it's completely different again!
Too much to choose from, and they are so easy to swap that you can mix and match depending upon mood. Don't forget that you can also use them all on other 22mm lug watches!
