Not a big fan of either. If I wanted a clean black dial, I would look at the Sinn 556i.

I'm no fan of the Mark XVI series. IWC's Mark XV was a better looking watch, IMHO. This current model looks too similar to their Big Pilot, thanks to the shape of the hands, and this alone puts this watch further away from the classic Mark XI from the 1950s on which it's based.
Now, if you were considering a Mark XII or XV, I'd be giving you a different answer, but for me there's nothing about this IWC model that you couldn't find in a few other pilot's watch brands that are still in production.

I like the Railmaster much more than the IWC. Either way make sure you're absolutely positive in your decision prior to selling that Railmaster as it may be quite difficult to find another one down the road.

Both of these watches have been long termers in my collection and I have, at different times, called each one a watch that could be my "only" watch. I can't see myself ever letting the Mark go. I've had Ingenieur, Aquatimer and Portofino as well, but the Mark XVI is my favourite by a big margin. Railmaster - well I'd think very carefully before letting that go! Its design is pure Omega to me and if you wanted to buy another one in the future, it would be a long wait to find one and you'd have to part with quite a few thousand dollars I reckon.

Mine say hi ;-)

I think you'd be better off not posting this in the Omega Forum. More likely to get biased answers here.

Personally, I prefer the IWC of the two, but there are a lot more options I'd choose at that price point.
