i heard that for many g-shock a phillips head called PH 00 X 40 is fitting perfectly for the screws. can anyone confirm this or recommend another sized phillips head.

I have a very small flathead that I have been using for a long time, I have it machined to even fit the small bezel screws, works perfect every time, every phillips I have ever tried seems to wanta round out the screw head.

Yup, that's the correct one. It will fit majority of G-Shock Phillips lug screws as well as caseback ones.

Other's might do the job but the margin for error will be greater and the head tip won't fit as well as the Phillips #00.

I could get the size #0 screwdriver fit well Frogman bezel screws only, but was slightly too big for other G-shock models, especially for caseback screws.

On the other hand my Bergeon #00 fits other G-shocks as well as the Frogman, so to keep the things simple I've been just using that one. ;-)

then the phillips head you used was too big. the very small and precise ones 00x40 are quite expensive, like 7 euro one screwdriver, and will not be included in the made in china watchmaker tool sets with 6 screwdriver for 2 euro.

i remember trying a PH in the store, and it fitted perfectly, must have been that 00x40. i try to get the one screwdriver that fits most, so i am not sure if its this one or one size bigger. maybe have to try again in the store.

hi sedi, its quite big, and you may damage your screws with that. i know it works, but only when u use very hard pressure while screwing, i better try a smaller one...

I had trouble knowing how far to tighten the screws. And I did find that my small phillips-head screwdriver was slipping in the screws. I might try a flat-head too.
the closer you hold/turn the screwdriver at the tip (away from the handle), the less likely you will strip the head. this should allow you to tighten the screw enough without over tightening.

Yes - a smaller one will probably be better but it fits the screws good enough - no need to use much force so far because mostly the screws came out quite easily. But it's really not perfect - they didn't have a smaller one at the shop I bough it .

Greetings, Sedi :)

I bought one of those 5 driver jeweler kits, that has both cross tip and flat tip drivers. The middle of the three cross tips fits the G caseback screws perfectly and snugly. I don't know what the technical size of it is. The flat tips also work well for the strap screws.

That Husky screwdriver does indeed look awesome! With postage it's not hugely feasible to the UK, but I'm on the hunt now for an equivalent :-d

I have seen the same Husky screwdriver being sold on Ebay as well, maybe one of those sellers ship outside the US.
Yes, and they are only $9! But unfortunately the $28 international shipping seems a bit greedy to me :-(

This equivalent is the closest I have found yet:

Its on Amazon for ÂŁ3.75 delivered, which is almost too cheap! I quite like the idea of one handle and keeping all the bits neatly together. I have a couple of older screwdrivers kicking around for little jobs where I need two!
