I love my Heliox and wouldn't change a thing. However, not everyone is built for the big watches.

Hello, ladies and gentleman, its been three years since we designed and manufactured the HELIOX Super-Sub. It is one of our favorite models in our collection. We only made total of 100 pieces of this legendary watch. Many have contacted us and are asking when the next HELIOX maybe ready. We are contemplating on making some revisions to this 250 Bar case design. The original specification on HELIOX were 46mm X 52MM and 18mm thick. Many loved the design and size was not an issue, some were more interested in a shorter smaller profile. Well, we are putting it up for debate. Let us hear what you like , we specially like to hear from the original owners. We may offer some new dial design and Bezel options, but in general, the case contour will remain the same, attached you can see a sample of proposed smaller profile case, and the original HELIOX........:)

Was just looking at my Heliox and it say XXX/300pcs on the caseback of my Heliox...? Was 300pcs made or 100pcs?

Hi Joe,

I'm an original Heliox owner (I also own an original Trimix and the new DSR1000). I really enjoy the Heliox however, I only wear it in the warmer months when I can wear short sleeves or roll up my sleeves. While I like the overall case dimensions and wouldn't change them, I do think that if the overall height could be reduced by 1-2 mm then it would become a watch that more would enjoy.

To reiterate some points about the complete package, I would suggest the following changes to improve the watch:

  1. Applied markers on the dial. Nothing too shiny so that the "tool look" isn't compromised too much.
  2. Reduce the overall height, most likely in the bezel. The case can't sit too low as the crown will dig into the back of the hand.
  3. Change the clasp on the bracelet to something machined with a nice push-button lock and ,if possible, a ratcheting diver's extension.
  4. Dial/hand choices...I like black or blue dials...so, no changes from my perspective.

It's a wonderful design and if you do decide to change it, then I'll definitely consider it when it comes out.

I have one of the Heliox (in fact i have one of every one of the Zinex/Zixen watches). The Heliox is one of my favorites and fits perfectly on my big old wrist. I would keep the design and case contour the same and I would say that i would be alright with reducing the height just to make it a tad less top heavy. I wear mine on a rubber strap to keep it in place because it would keep "flopping" and i would constantly have to re-adjust it on the wrist when it was on a bracelet. Reducing the height would get a better center of balance so it would sit straight on the wrist when using strap options other than rubber. I also agree with Chronomeister - i would be all over a Black and White austere 3 hand military like version

Thanks guys, there is an overwhelming voice on keeping the same shape however perhaps put the HELIOX on a slight diet!!;-) We are paying attention to all your great input. It seems 2mm reduction in overall height maybe, will be a consideration. Many other great suggestions on markers also is noted. We will be taking our time with this, the HELIOX original production were total of 100 pieces/300. The next production batch will be from 100 to 200/300......we will start the drawing and CAD work as soon as we feel we have a final decision on case design.

Thanks again and keep your great suggestion coming....... :)

I own your watch and definately bring the case down to 44mm and overall height of at 14-16mm. Lug to lug should be considered between 52-54mm. Orange, white dials would be great also.

Keep the over all case design and thickness, in my opinion.

I say make it smaller. Not everyone likes or can wear big watches.

Joe, this is genius. I love your watches but they would be too big for my puny girl wrists. Shorten the LTL, fit a sapphire or ceramic bezel insert, and I want one.

The case and bezel are perfect, don't change please. The proportions are perfect.
Perhaps reducing the height of the caseback might help, but it already hugs the wrist exceptionally.
Doesn't seem to sit any higher really than my dsr500

I was a little timid before buying it, but there was no reason now I see it on my wrist.

For ref, I have a 7.25"ish wrist w\Fairly flat on top.

Any updates? I see myself wearing my divers with my suits and putting the Heliox on a diet as I mentioned with the above specs, 44mm and 14-16mm thickness, would be great. I would also offer some new dials(ORANGE).

What about the small wristed guys who like tool watches with great lume. It seems impossible to find a great tool watch with lumed lack bezel, great lume, under 14mm height and lug to lug lower than 52mm with an auto movement. What about a "Jr." for the "wrist-challenged"?

I love my Heliox and the case shape/design. But I would love a smaller version as well (as a subset model to the regular Heliox) - the 44 mm width 14-16mm heighth would be great. Then it could be more of a daily wear watch. I sent a mock of of the modern dial with some very minor modifications that I would love to see. It has a large triangle at 12'oclock and the 3 and 9 o'clock markers slightly longer than the others. Otherwise the dial is unchanged.
