Seiko SKA371 P1 and SKA371 P2 - whats the difference?

I'm about to purchase one of those but I'm not sure which one. is there a significant (technical) difference between the two models or is it just referring to the different bands? (P1 = steel, P2 = plastic)

From what I know, the letters and numbers after the actual model number usually refer to the band type. Such as she skx779k1 and k2. K1= metal K2= rubber. BTW, thats the Orange Monster I believe...

I'm ready to buy a seiko ska 371 but I see it listed on the internet as the ska 371 p1. are they different watches?

No, the P1 merely indicates that it's the version with the metal bracelet, whereas P2 refers to the otherwise exact same watch but on a rubber strap.
