Well .... if you cant tell ..... I like Bertucci's .... In particular my favorites are the ones with the titanium bracelets and the D-1T all of which appear to be out of production. I really wish they would bring the permanent bracelets back.

I would consider them the perfect field watches .... auto would be interesting, but I only recall them offering one .... A-3T Ti-Matic that had a Miyota 9015 and the crown was in the usual spot instead of 4 o’clock like the rest. The crown position was a deal killer for me .... but otherwise nice. I haven’t seen one in a long time so I think they discontinued them.

How do the bracelets attach? Do these models not have fixed lug bars?

The one bracelet model I own (B1-TE) has conventional spring bars. All of the others that came on straps have fixed lugs.

My B1-T is the black PVD model and it's starting to show some wear on the edges. I bought it because it has a backlight, but I would have preferred the natural titanium finish.

Here's my latest Bertucci: the tritium illuminated A4-T. I don't really love the 26mm lug width so it's on a homemade rough leather strap that tapers to 22mm. I bought a factory leather strap when I bought the watch (it's a refurb model) but the Bertucci strap is actually a bit too nice. It's the full 26mm and quite thick. This one feels a little lighter and not quite as clammy in the heat.

This makes a really great field/beater watch.

I would assume that if they'd been popular the model wouldn't have been discontinued. I think that they weren't as popular for a few reasons ....

#1 - a mechanical movement is unlikely to be as durable in regard to shocks as quartz and since they are marketed as "tough field watches" anything that makes them more delicate will probably be a slow starter
#2 - it necessitated the movement of the crown to the 3 o'clock position unlike the 4 o'clock on the rest of the models so it lost some family identity
#3 - it was a rather higher priced model compared to the rest of the lineup and may have been a push too far outside of their core market

These aren't facts, just my observations and thoughts. With that in mind, I certainly would like to add one to my collection.

It seems Bertucci no longer makes the automatic ti-matic, sad times. I am curious how popular the ti-matics were? I was always tempted by it but the long lugs and design for single strap use dissuaded me.
