Hi guys,

Just wanted your two cents worth on this.

Late to the table I know. But I've just purchased a Seiko Sarb033 out of curiosity ... to see first hand what all the fuss is about. Was thinking of buying and installing a Hirsch genuine alligator strap and Hirsch pusher deployment on it. Am I mad? Is the watch worth it?? I mean the fittings are almost 50% the value of the watch itself.

Any views?

Thanks in advance.

Something to remember about the 033 is that it can comfortably rub shoulders with watches that cost twice as much. A watch as nice as the 033 would do justice to a gator strap and I wouldn’t hesitate to put one on if I was going for leather.

Thanks sticky . That's very reassuring. Much appreciated. It's my first Seiko and my first so-called affordable watch. (Please don't read anything into that.) Have to say that I am very impressed. All the good things that I've read a true. It is for this reason that I started thinking about the alligator and pusher.

I echo what Value said. Very few of my watches live on their OEM straps. I have a few straps that are double the price of what I paid for several of my watches—I am a strap nerd too. As I sell watches, those straps find new homes on the new ones I buy. More than the timepieces, the straps are the constants in my collection. ... I also have a couple of high dollar pieces on cheap Barton fabric straps. As with everything, what makes you happy is what counts.

Really nice. I have decided on the Hirsch Vogager (which has full hide) black/black with Hirsch's Magic Clasp. Apparently this is a direct replacement for Omega's OEM strap. I should therefore be able to use it on an Omega AT 38.5 as well?
