What looks like a Seiko 5 SNK but with Sapphire ?

HI !
Looking for an understated Field type watch, favorite designs being the Victorinox Officer, the Seiko SNK, the Luminox Field Acatama. Similar price ranges.

1. Case must be 37-38mm
2. Must have sapphire
3. Must be Around 400-500 new and lower used.
4. If discotinued, can it be had with patience for said amounts ?

Any ideas ? :)

The Khaki line is huge. The "no date" models are hand-winders, and IIRC a special edition. I believe they only come in black or brown. The "standard" hand-wind model (with a date) comes in black or olive. The automatics are available in black, beige, or silver (in the 38mm size, larger sizes had some other colors).

That's a custom modded watch, not something you can just buy. You buy the SNK and the parts (dial, hands, sapphire crystal) and then either take the watch apart and install the new parts yourself, or have a watchmaker do it. Maybe you can find a modder who sells online who would be willing to build one for you.

As mentioned above, you'll either have to put the watch together yourself. Or find a watchmaker willing to do it.

I think my SNK (mine is the green dial version, the 805) is a great watch. Legible, interesting dial, very bright lume (I wonder how Seiko do this when so many other watch companies have trouble with it), inexpensive, swimmable--the only thing I'd like that it doesn't have is hand winding. As the SNK look is your goal why not just do what others recommend, which is buy a sapphire crystal and have a local watchmaker install it? That way you'll be able to choose the exact color and shape crystal you want. You'd probably still have budget left over for a high-quality bracelet, if you want that too.

Another modded snk with domed sapphire. This one was built by yobokies so if you see something of his you like, you can just order it from him. This cost $215 iirc.

You might look for a SNKN27, I think discontinued.

[Edit] Hardlex, not sapphire if course but you could buy the crystal and a press and still have less in the thing than the Hamilton.

I'd also look at some quartz watches because there will be more choices with saphire in lower price ranges. [/Edit]

I picked one up as a gift and it looks even better in person than Internet pictures. Nice and clean.
