DW-5300 help

Hi folks.

I have an old DW-5300 it's been in the loft for 30+ years. It had resin rot and the bezel fell off in bits. The watch itself and strap are in good condition and I put a new battery in it and its working fine.

My question is which bezel will fit this watch. I know that the original type is impossible to get now. There must be another bezel that will fit.

Hopefully you can help me

It's bezel was discontinued years ago and i rarely see any for sale. Your best bet is to buy a another Dw5300 on eBay and use it for parts. I usually see them go for $100 -200 at auction.
It may take some time .. but it's not Mission Impossible!

Thanks for reply. Will no other bezel fit this even if its not exactly the right one. I can mod a bezel to fit.

As far as my knowledge goes I believe the 5300 bezel is specific to that watch.

Being that old it's long discontinued so you will find it very difficult to get a new one from anywhere.

A donor watch could be your only hope, but they are few and far between.

What are the dimensions of this module compared to 5200 5600 etc... I don't have anything to compare the module size to. Is it significantly bigger. All the 5200 5300 5600 modules all look the same. Can some kind soul possibly provide an answer to this. I know once I bought a refrigerator based on a picture and it was a foot shorter than a full size

What are the dimensions of this module compared to 5200 5600 etc... I don't have anything to compare the module size to. Is it significantly bigger. All the 5200 5300 5600 modules all look the same. Can some kind soul possibly provide an answer to this. I know once I bought a refrigerator based on a picture and it was a foot shorter than a full size

The 5300 uses the old 901 module that was also used in at least the DW-5600C, (1987).

I'm nearly 100% sure that this module will also fit the 5000C, 5200C, 5800 and other older 5*** G's from that sort of era. I don't think it will fit any modern variants.

Basically it was designed to fit the original steel bodied watches and not the newer plastic/resin ones.

Someone else can hopefully chip in with a more detailed answer.

Found my old dw5300.
As you can see the plastic case is a bit wider than the the metal case and the lug size is different.

Now that's sorted check this out
They kind of re-issued a non gshock version, check out w218h. I've never seen one up close, but might be worth checking out if you like the style.
