I really like the dial on the regular turtle, but the mini fits my wrist a lot better.
I know they are pretty much the same movement, but can I swap the dial and movement from the regular turtle to my mini?
Thanks in advance.
Not a straight swap. You'd have to get a day dial for a 3 o'clock crown position to put onto the 4R36 and then cut off the dial feet and attach it to the movement spacer with adhesive or glue to be in the correct orientation.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the crown location. I think I'll just leave it. Thanks for the reply.

Took a gamble with this one and I think it paid off!

• CrystalTimes CT056 double dome sapphire with blue AR (previously installed)
• Yobokies C3 Chrome Monster hand set
• SKXA33 dial from a non-working sample watch
• SII NH36 movement with 7S26 spacer

Rather than going the route of adding the day complication to the stock 4R35, I opted to build a complete drop in replacement. Easy peasy!

Packed away the stock parts, ready to swap back in whenever I choose.

I'm really happy with the result. The SKXA33 dial has very similar design queues to the stock SRPC35 (or vice versa) with smaller tapered hour markers that create more "openness" on the dial face and make the watch look bigger overall. The original hands on the SKXA33 are white with an all white back-end lollipop, but I didn't feel the white worked with the overall aesthetic (maybe if the hour markers were not framed with silver it would work better in my eyes). The Yobokies C3 Chrome Monster hands are a perfect substitute and I like the arrow seconds hand. The added day complication was neither here nor there for me, but at least the window is beveled, giving it a nice finished look.

Some might notice there's no more Prospex "X" logo, but that was never a deal breaker for me. Nice to not have it for the sake of simplicity though!

One additional note: there is a tiny pinhole in the lume of the minute hand. Likely a bubble that developed during the luming process. I have a replacement coming from Harold!
Really like this one a lot, good job!! On a side note...

I would LOVE to see a mini-turtle (or regular turtle for that matter) with a sunburst brown dial, gold hands and lume trim (like yours has), gold/rose gold or dark green chapter ring with or without the tics, black/dark brown or tortoise shell bezel insert with the gilt turtle style gold numbering, and finally a gold bezel.. maybe put it on a gold case or just keep the case/bezel silver? Basically, I want it to look like a real turtle.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think it would look really slick.. at least in my head it does as long as all the colors mesh well. A green turtle shell is probably easier and more realistically doable. Anyone ever see something like that?

Thanks for the kind words!

I made mention in another thread about something similar: "Save the Turtles" Turtle and Mini-Turtle in green!

I'm sure that 'save the turtles' turtle will surface eventually.. if not, might have to be my first mod project down the road!

My mini turtle with a double dome sapphire, and the OEM hand set from Seiko Stargate. Taking pics with the double dome/reflection is hard!
Where did you purchase the double dome sapphire crystal from? Thanks.

It was purchased from Crystal Times. Once on their website, just search for SRPC35.
I'm debating whether to use the Crystal times "Double Dome" or the Dagaz store "Bubble Dome" crystal.

Thickness 4.3mm of Double Dome vs 5.2mm Bubble Dome i believe.

Which crystal did you decide to go with? I'm currently making the same choice right now for my SRPC35K1.

Also, I got this response from LCBI today:

Hello Eric,

We are currently working on them. They should be completed within a few months.

Kindest Regards,
