Aloha everyone,

Looking to pick up my first pilot and have feel in love with these two watches. Looking for some comparison between the two, personal preference and pics! I've looked here, on YouTube (and found a great comparison). I'm leaning towards the stowa but would love more insight before investing in one.
Mahalo!

The straight lugs of the Laco are historically authentic I suppose,
but I think curved lugs fit my wrist better. Laco makes those as
well.

Thanks,

Mahalo! Appreciate the info! Have definitely heard some love the curved lugs of the stowa as it fits better vs. The straight lugs

40mm case
Onion crown
Curved lugs
Machine finished case

Right: Laco Paderborn

42mm with a small bezel on the Laco will wear large...provided your wrist can handle it, then the Laco is more toolish, the Stowa more elegant. Your taste will determine which way you want to lean. Good luck!
Mahalo for your input! I wear a modified Seiko skx007 or Seiko tuna daily, both are around 43mm, but I think the bezel probably makes it feel like a smaller watch. So think either should work, but still leaning toward the stowa.

I'm not sure about Laco but I'm waiting on arrival of my first Stowa. Customer service has been top notch and response time is usually within half an hour assuming you take into account the time in Europe. I've only heard great things about their service. It also doesn't hurt that their CEO is an active member of this forum.

Oh awesome to hear that he's active here!! Something you don't hear everyday. But I've heard the same as well, top notch customer service.

Please keep me posted when it arrives! Happy for you!

I like the shape on the Stowa lugs over the Laco, aesthetically. Comfort might be an advantage for the Laco though.
Good to know, what makes you say the straight lugs would be more comfortable? Most things that I've read so far seemed to point otherwise. But I've never had a watch with straight lugs so just curious

If you haven't had lugs like the Laco, I would say go outside the comfort zone and get the Laco. You can't go wrong either way...maybe choose the less expensive of the 2 and use the difference for a Rolex??

Ya that's a good point! Will keep an open mind, and an active eye on the for sales thread haha. And nah, Rolex is too high for my taste
