Thanks for the feedback. It's about changing the look of my sub (which I've owned since 1990) with something different every once in a while. I'll use it this way for a bit to see how I feel about it.

The only use for a jubilee bracelet is on a DJ. They make sports watches look like dinner party desk diving soft shoe shuffling ridiculousness. Look at the GMT's these days! Even PCL's look wrong on a sports watch. Why would anyone put something as highly polished and scratch magnetic on a watch that has sports in the description? because they don't expect anyone wearing them to be doing anything more sporty than showing them to everyone at starbucks. ;)
Others have argued on the forum, with merit in my opinion, that there is a difference between a "sports" watch and an outdoor/active watch. For example, the GMT Master and the Milgauss are technically sports watches, but really they were intended for engineers and pilots who would be wearing suits or other professional attire, so the jubilee bracelet or polishing isn't so out of place. Whereas the Submariner and the Explorers are actually marketed for scuba diving, swimming, hiking, spelunking, mountain climbing, etc. So for those ourdoor sports watches, you don't see the polishing.

Plenty of "diver" styled watches with jubilees out there so I wouldn't have an issue with that combination but for some reason the sub w/ the jubilee just didn't seem right after a few days of testing. Can't quite put my finger on it but just didn't like the look.

I think it's because the Rolex jubilee has a more crisp, formal look than the jubilee-similar bracelets on other watches. I also don't think it's such an abomination on a sub, although it wouldn't be my own preference.

Have you tried a nato?
I honestly really like 5 digit subs on leather too, especially a distressed leather look.

(and doubly so since 5-digit clasps are garbage. sorry. love my 14060, don't love the clasp).

I initially hated the tuna-can bracelet but have come to appreciate it. It's lightweight, comfortable and durable. But I agree, it's nowhere near the level of the new bracelets/clasps.
