If there are no arrows on the inner side of removable links on a bracelet, how do you determine which direction to push the pins out? The watch in question is a Hamilton Khaki field day/date auto.

Thanks!

Thanks- neither end is split. Based on what I’ve found since asking it uses a pin/collar system, and it doesn’t matter which direction. I’ll wait to see if anyone can confirm this before I try, however.

Well, if it's pin and collar, it shouldn't matter from which side you push to remove the pin assuming the probe is narrow enough to enter the opening without getting stuck. However, on installation, the pin should go in on the opposite side from the direction that the collar is seated. So, in the set of links from my Seiko, push to remove is bottom-up. To install is top-down. The collar goes in on the bottom side of the center link. It's a bit of a jiggle, so be careful with the collars. They get lost really easily.

So the collar should only go in and out of the center section of the link in one direction. When putting the pin back in, push from the side the collar can come out of and be put back in or from the side the collar will not go in/out?

Thanks!

Not sure on that. Let me take another pic with the pins and collars in position. Gimme a minute.

The arrows indicate the side and the direction of the pin movement. So they come out in the direction of the arrows on the side opposite the arrows. They go back in the same hole on the same side, but directionally against the arrows.
