Thanks Doug.

Aside from the video, what are your impressions? I've had mine since Monday, so I've pretty much figured the watch out.
Thanks Odie, curious where you got yours and which version did you get?

My impressions are positive so far. From the perspective of someone who enjoys technology, the design and engineering involved in this watch are mind blowing.
Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, thermometer sensors, the battery, solar cells, the motors that run the hands, the Bluetooth, and then the chip and on top of all that 100 Meter water resistance and 6 month battery life. All that in this package is amazing to me. That's why I went out of my way to hunt this down.

It's early for their technology. I'm excited to see what they add and where they go with this watch, and future releases.

So, right now it's a typical T-Touch with the addition of notifications and extra functions making this better than previous versions with great potential to be so much more.

What are your thoughts so far?

I got mine from Tic Watches in the UK. They used DHL and it got here (USA) within a few days. They’re constantly getting new models in and they also have a coupon code for 10% off (Tissot10 I think). I posted some pictures in the previous Thread that I posted a short review (silver/black band).

Yes, it is an upgraded version of the Expert Solar. I didn’t buy it for the “Smart” features. I wear an AW6 on my left wrist for health, notifications, alarms, etc. My right wrist if for my “regular” watch which I like to have for ABC functionality.

My AW and Garmin’s are pretty close to each other in terms of steps, so when comparing the step counter to the Tissot, it’s nearly double, so they need to work on that, along with choosing which wrist the watch is on.

Having the watch for a week now, I’ve come to appreciate the few differences between this and the original Expert. You can choose different Compass settings (True North, Magnetic North, etc), that’s nice. The Baro allows you to choose between units, which is nice.

I’m a little OCD with the “second” hand not lining up with the index markers but I understand why the hands have to be flexible since they move fast.

The app is very generic, so Tissot has to work on that. Hopefully they have a way to submit suggestions, as I’m building a list.

Congratulations!! We are a couple of the very few that have these in USA. I got the same exact deal from TicWatches, shipped quick. Did you get the same model I got or one of the black versions?

The step counter is usually the first thing these companies need to fix. They've already had one firmware update, I am assuming we will see many more to address fixes and add functions. I think the limited release is smart on their part, we are virtually beta testing it for them so when it gets a mass release, its more of a final product than it is now.

I think if you go into the contact page, you should have the ability to send problems and suggestions. It's going to be fun to watching this develop and the ownership base to grow and get other impressions of this watch. Im a little OCD too, I got lucky on mine. I was just happy to finally get it, I initially tried buying through a shop in Switzerland on Chrono24, I WAY overpaid asked them to send DHL Express. They sent SwissPost 2-5 day urgent and it got held up for almost a month in customs. Then TicWatch ended the preorder and started shipping, I purchased through them and refused shipment on the other watch.

My watch is the same as yours (body) but I got the rubber strap version. It’s very comfortable.

I was very happy with the service from Tic Watches. I had emailed them asking about the warranty because I learned quite a bit from the Solar Experts and it’s an absolute MUST to buy from an AD. They had an issue with screen bleeding because of a bad stabilizer, which has been fixed with repairs or the newer ll’s but if you bought from Jomashop or another grey market dealer, you were screwed.

Not sure but I kept track of their stock for a week or two and they went through their stock (Tissot) quickly. I found them via Google "Shopping" option.
That's how I found them too. Smart marketing. That extra 10% didn't hurt either.

I’ve found some interesting things that Tissot didn’t mention:

1. Unless you have “Eco Mode” on, when you push a button, the backlight comes on (this world be nice if you could turn off m)...unless your in a bright setting. There appears to be a sensor that determines the light source (kinda like Casio and their auto led wrist turn depending on light surroundings).

2. I believe the Compass is tilt-compensated, which is nice.

Great and thorough review! I've waited for a successor to the expert for some time. I Have had every iteration of this series and will be skipping this one. Very disappointed with the size. When you look at what's being done with technology and what can be done in regards to dimensions, it amazes me that they continue to increase the overall size with these. I was hoping for a bit smaller than the expert solar.

Hi. I have a few ABC watches but when I saw this I was blown away. My best ABC watch is a Casio Pro Trek. I still like the Pro Trek watch but It does not vibrate, the second hand acts as the compass needle so it's hard to see on the move and I hate the strap, its either to big or too small. So I think I'm due for an upgrade. The Tissot ticks all the right boxes (except the price) I'm a bit concerned though about the straps. So can anyone confirm, that with the Tissot T Touch Connect Solar you cannot change the straps, I heard this somewhere. Is it safe to assume you can change the bracelet version? That's the one I'm thinking of getting. Cheers.

You can use any 23mm band.

I recently got my tissot t touch connect solar from Jurawatches.co.uk, there was a mention in this thread about the second hand "I’m a little OCD with the “second” hand not lining up with the index markers but I understand why the hands have to be flexible since they move fast"
I have just noticed yesterday with my watch, and it's made me ocd, i keep checking it hoping it'll fix itself, it over laps the index markers by about half a millimetre, I've tried the alignment settings but no luck. Can this be fixed? Or is this just normal??

[emoji113] I believe that I was the OCD one you were referring to and no unfortunately, it won't change. Now, what I have noticed as at certain points of the day, parts of the watch, it's spot on.

To me, this watch is the same price as the previous generations but with considerable more work and technology. Knowing that, I worry less about the seconds hand moving perfectly.

Im sorry to bother, but as I will buy mine next week, I would like to ask how do we update the watch firmware?

Thanks in advance,
