I came across these this afternoon while window shopping for a reasonably priced titanium and I'm intrigued. I've never heard of the brand before but the specs seem right. Titanium case, sapphire crystal, ETA 2824 movement all for under $500. Just wondering if anyone has tried these out before.

No, but spec wise seems okay. I am guessing you might get a response from others having real world experience with that brand.

In the meantime, did a quick search on the forum and there appear to be a few past threads here and there.

For example, this fellow has a very similar question:

Just messing with you, there are some other threads. Here is a real one. Name is same, although logo is different. Not sure if that means anything.

Here's some info from the Island Watch website....

ARISTO was founded in 1907 by Julius Epple in Pforzheim, a center of jewelry and watch making in Germany. The company produced timepieces for the next three generations. Today Aristo Watch Co. has joined forces with Ernst Vollmer (Vollmer Watch) and they are concentrating their efforts as a single company (i.e. Aristo/Vollmer). ARISTO today manufactures mechanical and automatic classic and military inspired watches with cases and bracelets from the parent company Ernst Vollmer GmbH & Co. and parts from the WPG Group. All automatic movements used in Aristo watches are imported from Switzerland. This makes for a perfect combination of German designed and manufactured cases and bracelets with high quality automatic or mechanical movements.

I bought a Aristo B dial flieger from Long Island Watch a couple of years ago, can't recall the model number, but it has a sapphire crystal, and Sellita movement....I think it was about $475.00....I like it, finish is nice, leather strap is good quality, I think it is well worth the price. My only gripe is the lume.....dial is ok, hand lume is horrible, almost non existent...don't know if that's normal or I just happened to get a bad one

Just remembered that I also bought an Aristo from Long Island Watch. It was quartz and was a nice watch for the price. I think I paid just below 200.00 for it. Not what you're looking for but I thought I'd put it out there.

If you're not set on titanium and are just looking for that style of pilot watch, Island Watch does sell the same style for $199.00. It is an auto (NH35) and comes with or without a date complication. Search Islander ISL-53 and ISL-54.

I had a lume dial pilot. It was pretty basic, but very well made. I don't think you can do better for the price. One note that may or may not matter...mine was advertised as an ETA 2824, but I could clearly see "26 jewels" on the rotor, which I think indicates it was a Sellita, so I think some of the listings are out of date.

I've had a few and they are good watches at the price point.

Mine was also advertised with the 2824 but came with the Sellita. I was told that the earlier watches were 2824s but most had the SW-200 now....I had the opportunity because the advertising was incorrect to return it, but chose not to. Shortly after the specifications were changed to simply "Swiss Movement" so I'm sure there is some old information still out there.

I see this a lot too. Movements advertised on many manufacturer's website as ETA but numerous reviews on the web indicating that they're actually using Sellita. I think this must have something to do with Swatch cutting off (down?) supplies of their movements to other groups. I just assume now that the watches are using Sellita unless proven otherwise.

You'd think the manufacturers would update their websites; we'll see if that ever happens.

You will find a lot of information on the German Watches Forum which you might find helpful, here's a report on oir latest visit.

So my Titanium Aristo arrived today, here are my initial thoughts. It does come with a Selita movement not an ETA but I figured that would be the case anyways. Movement is Undecorated/ branded in anyway but at this price point also what i expected. Very light as it's titanium although the rotor seems a bit loud and I wonder if that has anything to do with the case material? I think a manual wind movement may have been a better choice but that's a personal preference I have. Strap seems ok nothing fancy. I put it on a Barton rubber. I took a picture of the strap next to my Sinn strap ( on left) to give a comparison. The only real bug a boo I have is that it came with a mineral crystal. That's partially my fault. I originally came across this on another site and ended up ordering through Long Island watches as they were less expensive assuming they were the same. I emailed Aristo and they told me the other site asks for sapphire crystal, not a big deal they said I can buy one from them if I want later down the road. I mean a German made titanium watch with a Swiss movement for $375 shipped seems like a win over all to me. I included some pics below.
