When it comes to Grand Seiko dials, it's easy to first think of pieces like the Snowflake, Skyflake, the Four Seasons collection, the whirlpool dials, some of their very fine textured pieces. What are your favorite non-textured GS dials, though?
For me personally, I have a soft spot for sunburst dials. Grand Seiko's champagne dial featured on a lot of references is one of my favorites. The tone of the dial can really change depending on the lighting, and you can bring out both silver and gold hues from it. It's also interesting how there are more steps to the manufacturing process compared to their other offerings. Here's a photo (from JoeKirk I believe) of the steps required to manufacture one.
