I'm relatively new to watches but as I am learning and reading about them, found a discussion on the water resistance of the Omega Speedmaster and it was very divisive.
Some claim that you should not get them into water while others said it should be ok.
I feel like this is the place where I will be able to find many Speedmaster owners and we can bust a myth.

Please share pics of your Speedy under water. Not under running water but actually submerging them.

Id like to show you but i wouldnt want to submerge my Speedy(s).
Would it help if Omega tells you that it will be ok?

Cool thread! I’ll take a pic tomorrow and post it up - X33 gen 2 if that counts 😅

Check out underwater moonwatch on Instagram he puts the speedy underwater. Still looks great and works fine
Yeah, given the dogma around here that you need 300m WR to wash your hands, that account will be viewed here in the same light as those who think the moon landing happened in a sound stage in LA. :p

You are right that with 50m of water resistance it SHOULD be ok, but why risk it? For a watch that costs anywhere from $4-7k, why take unnecessary risks. I generally know if I am going to the beach or a pool party or something. I’ll wear one of my dive watches for those couple of days a month
