I just hit my 4000th post here on WUS, pretty amazing when you think about it. When I joined the forum back in April of 2006 I knew very little about watches. I always had an eye that favored dive watches and dive chonographs. One of my earliest watch memories was as a young guy (14 years old) seeing a dive chronograph that my uncle always used to wear and thinking that was the coolest watch ever. When I first joined the forum I had a few quartz dive watches that I had purchased at department stores or through catalogs. Now I look back at the many exciting years of collecting and using dive watches. I've met a lot of great forum members here too.
Over the years I've shot literally thousands of photos of dive watches. I have a backup hard drive dedicated specifically for all my photos. I've had a lot of fun over the years shooting watch pics, setting up and composing the shots, getting the lighting just right, working with different backgrounds. Most of the time I don't use props in my shots, I let the watch be the "star" of the pic so the viewer can get a great visual of the watch itself. I've also been able to handle some very interesting prototypes from companies during shoots as well over the years.
Six years and 4000 posts later. I have to say my dive watch collection has evolved quite a bit since those early days. Looking back through some of my photo archives I've come across some of my favorite shots that I've posted below. It's been a great ride and I look forward to another 4000 posts here on WUS.
Cheers,
Dave
