I had one but I lost the 12 o'clock lume pip housing. I sent it to Seiko and they replaced it and I sold it when I got it back. It seems that this part is held to the bezel with a small screw that unscrews if you look at it too hard.

Appears the hands you guys don't like are the same as used on the first generation Sumo (possibly later versions but I'm too lazy to look.) I never gave the tapered minute hand any thought but it's interesting to note that the Sumo is the only one I have with "smooth" hands and my other watches all have arrow minute hands and tapered hour hands but they taper outward so they are thicker at the ends. Guess the style guys flip a coin every time they "design" new hands and go back and forth - taper out, taper in, straight, arrow, no arrow, etc.

I have a blue Stargate 2 that is not blue anymore :)) I replaced the dial with a black one. The result is a unique Stargate 2 that is black but has orange minute hand, seconds hand tip and crown. I still think it’s one of the most underestimated Seiko Divers.

I never flip a watch so naturally I still have my Stargate.
Don't be shy about posting pics

I was going through my collection the other day, and realized that STARGATE used to be all the rage.
Most of my collection consists of many pieces I never wear, IN ADDITION TO those I do wear.
Why? Becz I modify many of them, and keep them to study for my own reasons.
So a bunch of them make up my "archive" of interesting designs.

Anyway, I realized how much nicer the STARGATE is, compared to the 007.

Here's one of mine - with changed hands

Awesome! Love it especially the choice of handset.

Wanted to grab one for a bit but I can't. I'm a fidgety guy with my bezels already and the cool thing about the stargate is the little suicide knob. I would pinch and spin that thing so fast and often that the click spring would melt and then weld itself stuck. God, I want to spin one so bad!

Just for you C.
Noice !!

Ya know, that brings back memories.
Girls used to say that to me, when sending me THEIR pics. (y) .... .... 🤪

Ya, I know: you're thinking: "Girls? In the plural? NO WAY ! Surely they did not all own the Stargate too? "
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I always liked these, but just couldn’t get past the “stargate”(no pun intended). I think it would’ve been a much better looking watch without it.
We are so used to generic looking Sub style watches. When they come out with great innovative design most can't see the beauty in it. I have seen millions of Mercedez hands it now turns my stomach just like any soap opera , lol.

I guess since we’re digging up an almost two
Year old thread… I wonder if @Chronopolis still has his Stargate?
Yes, as a matter of fact, I even RE-modifed several of them.
Might sell a few.
Even I know when too many is too many. Don't wanna end up like a woman with 200 cats. SIGH !!!
