What watch are you taking on your vacation?

Usually when I’m away from home/the rota it’s the Daytona the see action.

I usually take whatever I feel like. But if I know that it's gonna be a holiday where there's more drinking involved in potentially fishy neighborhoods I take my Seamaster 300 Master Co Axial, as it's the only watch that I have insured.

With a 13-year old daughter playing travel softball, our "vacations" are usually to tournaments. We live in Northern California, and this year the tournaments will take us as far as Denver, Colorado, and Huntington Beach in Southern California. Look for me there. I'll probably be the only watch geek around, and I'll be wearing my Sinn EZM 10. It has a hardened titanium case and bracelet, and feels like my most durable watch in a small rotation. Plus, the chronograph and the countdown bezel are great for watching the softball games, which are always timed somewhere between 75 and 90 minutes.

Even if it weren't for softball tournaments, I think the EZM 10 would still be my travel watch. The other two watches in the three-watch rotation are 1) too old for replacement parts and 2) too valuable for risking damage. Oddly, when we traveled to Italy years ago, I wore an Omega Speedmaster from the sixties on the original bracelet (a 105.012-66 CB no less, for those who speak Vintage Speedmaster).

my next vacation is a hike in the white mountains or adirondacks. i'll likely wear the garmin i always have on the right and something like this on the left. cheap polycarbonate quartz watch with tritium, helpful at night in a tent. this is a stock photo, i wear it on single pass or NATO straps.

Recently returned from a Spring Break vacation with the family. Took my Sinn EZM3 on NATO for outdoorsy activities and my Damasko DA47 for everything else. It really helped to have the 1-11 bezel to keep track of time back home.

I got mine used. I don't know of a US source but they ship fast from England.

I just returned from a few days in Florida, and wore these two. I wore the diver most of the time, and the Shinola for evening social events. I visit Florida multiple times a year, and sometimes bring just a diver, which used to be my older "beater" Citizen but recently has been this orange titanium one.

On holidays on the Côte d'Azur at the moment

Thought I would bring the blue Seamaster as my sole mechanical:

A couple of quartz watches all solar:

Edifice Alpha Tauri a great daily beater as it is light and comfortable
Casio MRG which I love travelling with as the second time zone activation is simple to use
Citizen diver perfect for taking into the sea and not worrying about it getting bashed up

I usually bring 2 watches.
If its a beach or cruise destination,,, a dinner watch and a activity watch capable of snorkeling.

Fyi,,, i have experienced theft during a vacation.
Lesson learned.

I just went to Cuba,,, and I didnt feel right about bringing my better watches.
I have 2 Caravelle watches that I care less about and I brought them to Cuba.
Very little concern when I was away.
