After a year of everyday use, I decided to post a mini review of this exceptional and very affordable diver watch.
First of all, the specs:
Case diameter: 41mm excluding crown
Lug to lug: 48mm
Case thickness: 11.5mm
Lug width: 20mm
Weight: 90.7gr with the rubber strap
Water resistance: 200m
Unidirectional bezel (90 clicks)
Mineral crystal
Screw down crown and back
Date
The use:
I bought this watch because it is cheap with a good WR and screw down crown, in order to wear it while swimming in the sea. I usually don't remove my watch ever and that's the reason I chose a cheap tough diver to wear all the time no matter what I do.
The watch has seen lots of action during the last year with a lot of sea swimming the whole summer where it has never left my wrist, as well as heavy farmer work, mountain hiking etc. I don't care about my watch so much that's why there are scratches and dings but not too much, considering the use.
Durability:
As you can see, there are scratches all over the face, and there are 2 very light scratches on the crystal too (I don't know if they are noticeable in the photos). The 12 luminous mark on the bezel fell off probably one of the numerous times i scratched my watch on wall corners. Nevertheless as you can see it still glows.
The crown is firmly screwed down and well protected by the case.
The bezel scratches easily and also has a little play beneath it depending of the dirt accumulated below. If the watch is clean, you can hear the bezel hitting the case when taping on it with your finger. If dirt has been accumulated, the bezel becomes tight and it doesn't turn as easily.
Generally the bezel is very useful especially if you keep your watch clean or if it is inside the water.
As far as the movement is concerned, it keeps well time, everything looks nice and tight.
I cannot say much about the stock bracelet because I changed it right away with a thick rubber band just for looks.
Lume:
As expected the lume is disappointing. Nevertheless, the hands are polished and reflect light well so the watch is readable in low light conditions. It is readable too in no light conditions but the luminosity is poor and the duration of the lume is very low.
Overall impression:
I can say that I am very happy with this watch. It seems robust enough, keeps time well, and is very affordable. I keep it on my wrist no matter what I do without having in mind that I might ruin it. It has a solid WR rating, screw down crown and back which are nice features for a watch of this price range. It also is 41mm case so its a bit smaller than let's say it's famous cousin MDV-106 which is noticeably larger. Comes in black and blue dials.
And finally, photos!
