I love the Omega Seamaster 300M Professional. What I don’t love is the non-tapering “Bond” bracelet and the clasp that does not have micro-adjustments. I much prefer the traditional 3 link bracelet as is found on the Planet Ocean or the Aqua Terra’s. I also prefer a Speedy-style bracelet to the Bond bracelet. Many people know that the 1610/930 Speedy style bracelet fits on any of the pre-2018 SMP’s and came standard with the Peter Blake SMP’s. My complaint about that bracelet is that the middle link of the end links stick out too much.

Lesser known is the fact that the first generation 39mm Aqua Terra bracelet will fit on any of the pre-2018 SMP’s. This bracelet tapers nicely from 20mm to 17mm at the clasp. However, the original clasp has zero micro-adjustments. But that can be remedied by adding the clasp for the 2021 300 Heritage Seamaster. This clasp is 18mm wide and has three on-the-fly micro adjustments. You just need to get links that connect the AT bracelet with the 300 Heritage clasp.

I have purchased the necessary components to create the (for me) perfect bracelet for my 2220.80 SMP. Pics are below.

If you have any interest in this project below are the part numbers. I ordered my components from Brad at Brent L. Miller Jewelers. As of this writing everything is in Omega’s current inventory.

Bracelet for 1st Gen 39mm Aqua Terra 1574/898 – Part No. 020ST1574898
Links to connect bracelet to clasp – Part No. 118ST1589 (you need 2)
Clasp for 2021 Omega 300 Heritage – Part No. 117STZ014058

There are only a couple of caveats to this project: 1) It’s pricey. The bracelet was ~$620, the clasp ~$220, and the connecting links ~$50 each. That said, this was a small price to pay to give me the perfect bracelet set up for my favorite and most worn watch. 2) The links connecting to the clasp are 18mm and the bracelet links taper to 17mm. That said, I don’t find it a problem.

[EDIT - I ALSO WANTED TO ADD YOU MAY NEED TO USE THINNER SPRINGBARS TO GET THE SPRINGBARS TO FIT. STANDARD IS 1.8MM. THINNER SPRINGBARS ARE 1.5MM. I have a 2531.80, a 2541.80, and 2220.80 and all take the same end links. One of these fits fine with 1.8mm springbars but two need 1.5mm springbars. It depends on how tight the lug tolerances are on each watch.]

And here are some better pics of an SMP with the AT bracelet:

Interesting. I would prefer the sliding clasp from the AT myself. Such a nice clasp. Good work.

It fits perfectly on the underside. Like it was made for these lugs.

Can you give me a reference number for the 50th Anniversary you're referring to?
It's the 2534.50. I think the case is slightly thicker than the 2254 Seamaster. Currently have a similar style Forstner bracelet fitted to it, but prefer OEM, and this would be a great option if I knew it would fit!

I'm pretty certain it will fit nicely. If you are currently using Forstner end links for the pre-2018 SMP that work, this AT bracelet definitely will work. I have a Forstner 1450 and Flatlink for my 2220.80 using the pre-2018 SMP end links and the fit is the same as compared to this AT bracelet (which is a good fit).

Looks OEM.

Nice work.

Enjoy it.
Thanks. I have Forstner, Uncle Seiko, and Strapcode bracelets that fit this watch that I like--but for my primary bracelet I really prefer something that is all Omega. This bracelet finally gives me the look and micro-adjustments I want and everything is Omega.

I thought I would post an update to this thread. Two years on and this is, by far, my favorite bracelet for my SMP's. I own a ton of bracelet and strap options for the SMP (Omega, Strapcode, Uncle Straps, Forstner) but this is the one I keep coming back to and leaving on for long periods of time.

For anyone reluctant to buy an SMP due to the non-tapering Bond bracelet, don't let that stop you. There are 10+ excellent bracelet options for this watch other than the OEM Bond bracelet. And with this combination everything on the watch is OEM Omega (if that's important to you).
