What do you think of the skx011j1? Is it a solid watch? I found one on ebay but unsure of the price 500?

Solid watches, however, the prices on Ebay for them are crazy. If you have patience and look around you can find the 011Js in the $200-$250. I think one sold on here for around $200 recently. I reached out to late on that one but it was listed for a few weeks.

Agree with others but on a side note, I’ve always felt like if there was going to be an skx that was ever worth something, I think 11j will be the one. That colorway is punchy but by far the least common sold, and the j part will probably carry some value 40 years from now. Could be wrong but I always think that when I see one

Prices for this model have risen considerably of late.

Similar silliness persists with the SARB 033 and 035 and other recently discontinued Seikos.

Not sure if one can point the finger of blame at Social Media, but asking prices at the moment are ridiculous.

Check out the forums on WUS, you just might get lucky and save yourself some serious $$$.

The smaller SKX Seiko divers are rad. I have an SKX031J that I can't make myself sell (well, I would, but for more than the market thinks it's worth). So, if you like it, go for it, but realize it's really "worth" about $250 max. That auction is at $112 as I write. Follow it and grab it last-minute (I am fond of the last-22-seconds-bid), but set a limit for yourself, and be willing to let it go if it goes above that price.

FWIW they're reliable, they look good, they punch above their weight, and if they go kaput you can have a new movement dropped in there by someone like Duarte at NEWW. I took my 031J to Greece and Italy and it was great to wear a watch that looked good but that I could just not care or worry about (and if you're doing vacation right, you should not be thing a whole lot about your watch).
