2022-23 has been a banner season for affordable GMTs, with this new Miyota mvt with traveler functionally the most exciting development, IMO. I'm trying to decide between the Traska Venturer or Jack Mason Strat-o-timer. Great specs/value for both. $695 for the Traska, $999 for the JM. Opinions, thoughts, hands on experience (with either brand - neither of these is delivered yet, I don't think)? These are different styles, so it may just come down to personal preference, but I'm still interested in what the community has to say, thank you! Or am I missing an alternative? I am not a fan of the Bulova Wilton, which I believe was the first offering with this mvt.

It's still a cheap movement. Miyota is holding back distribution, so it doesn't end up in sub $100 Chinese homage watches like the Seiko NH34.
But by years end, they will see the light and begin dumping them onto the market like Seiko did.

It's true, these are what I'm seeing from my US perch. Are there other 9075 options outside US i may be missing?
None so far. Even the Bulova Wilton is also US-only as far as I can tell. Rumour has it there is a baroque-styled Zeppelin with it, but other than one online shop in Germany I haven't found anyone who retails it yet. Still waiting for it to "change the game", I guess : )

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

When looking into GMT watches recently, I have also wondered about the same thing, and I have come across two other manufacturers that offer GMT models using the new Miyota movement:
One from the French manufacturer LIP (see here) and the other from Gavox in Belgium (see here).
I am not sure, however, whether these are also shipped to the US.

I'd forgotten about the LIP, thanks. Unfortunately it's about a k which is plenty cheaper than a used Omega or even a new Alpina, but not a bargain. (And the Nautic-Ski automatic it's based on is half the price)

I see your point. This is slightly off-topic, but do you happen to have a LIP from their current collection? I have always wanted to buy one, but to be honest, I am uncertain about the quality. The vintage LIP are mostly (at least as far as I can tell) well regarded, but there are unfortunately few reviews of the current range of LIP watches.

Between the two, Traska.

My own money? I'm having fun with NH34 GMT mods, and waiting to see how the upcoming Zelos Mako 9075 GMT release looks. Assuming the design is solid (usually is), that could do it for me.

Well now, that looks pretty intriguing -- I had not heard about this, thank you! Joined the FB group...

Thank you for these, I had not seen them! Actually, I did see an LIP somewhere recently and I did a little double-take at their logo -- looks perilously close to HP's! (the computer maker)

Miyota does appear to be slow-playing the rollout; I suppose with the idea that scarcity leads to more buzz. Will be interesting to see if and when it plays out like you are predicting.
