Hi all, my first post here on WUS for ages. Checked my profile and it's been 2 years!
Anyway, I just bought another PAM, a 915. Been hunting for the right one since I sold my last, a 564, four years ago. Absolutely digging it for a few weeks now, my favourite Panerai so far (i've owned 5 previously).
Well I've noticed something with this new one. Did some googling to check if it's been spoken about, and couldn't find anything, so here I go.

I've owned three P.5000 PAM's so far. An R series 590, a T series 564, and my latest V series 915
Immediately noticed upon receiving it that the movement looks different (mine is the first gen 915 with the display case back).
One of the things I loved about the P.5000 is the 8 day movement, makes for a beautiful Sunday morning winding ritual :)
And I'm pretty sure my other P.5000's took over 100 winds to full charge every Sunday. Whereas my 2019/2020 915 takes only approx. 72 winds.
Seems like Panerai made some changes to the P.5000, beyond aesthetics.
BTW, mine is running -12 seconds after 17 days, so -0.7 seconds a day.

My 915...

Is the watch new? Did you buy it from a dealer?

The accuracy is unbelievably good 👍🏻

What PR are you getting?

I bought it pre-owned, warranty dated 2020
Haven't checked the PR.
I was just curious, because I'm pretty sure my older ones (R and T series Marina's) took around 100 winds every Sunday, whereas this one's only 70
When I eventually get bored with it and want to wear another watch, I'll let it run down to test the PR.

I have a P.5002, 8 day Luminor. It runs 70 seconds slow a week, takes over 200 (half) turns to get it fully charged, hacks, and does not stop winding when fully wound. It is literally a 5 minute exercise every Sunday to wind it and move the minute hand up 1 minute. Built in 2018 and sold in 2020. I was initially concerned about losing 10spd, but it is very consistent… so starting the week a minute ahead and ending 10 seconds behind works for me.

34 day ownership update on my 2020 PAM000915
I wind it fully every Sunday morning.
Currently -25 seconds, so still keeping -0.7 seconds a day.
Super happy with this watch, after owning 5 other PAM's, it's my favourite aesthetically. And now, with the performance of this P.5000, it's definitely my favourite Panerai so far.

That sounds about right. My 915 has a solid case back but it’s dated 2023
