Honest, I searched first. For those who have removed text from the cases of Casio plastic/resin watches, what is the best, non-damaging way to do it? I don't want any smudging, or abrading to show once I'm done. I read here about Goo-Gone and have seen YouTube mention of rubbing alcohol and 'eraser pads', AKA Mr. Clean Eraser and others. No one quite says the finish is completely un-marred, post procedure. Your advice is appreciated !

You're welcome.

One more thing: get some of these cotton swabs-- they're sturdier than Q-tips, and one end is pointy, for more precise work:

We have ESP. I was about to ask about your technique and whether Q-tip, finger+rag, Dremel polisher tip, etc. Special swab it is. About how much time does it take to get to no visible text showin? Any polishing afterwards with any other compound? Thanks.

Thank you caribiner23 for your help. I de-worded two of my Casios and I LOVE the effect ! Used Goo Gone, a standard Q-Tip and maybe 10 minutes per watch. My befores and afters are attached. I worked out the faint 'W' in one of the W218H-1BV pics and in another there is no smudge at the top. It was some Goo Gone I hadn't wiped off.

As to the W218H with negative screen, I've always wanted a watch I could only read on sunny days. I'm keeping it because it's my only negative screen watch, and I won't get another due to the poor visibility, but it sure looks cool now. And wasn't that the point, after all?

On the AQS810W the letters seem slightly embossed onto the case but no eye will ever catch the faint words from a foot away.

I've used 70% and 90% rubbing alcohol...90% works a little faster of course.

Hi Gang - Picked up this simple piece because I like the face, hands and fit. This text would NOT remove using the GooGone method above. I'm hesitant to use other chemicals in case something eventually damages the acrylic crystal. I may be stuck with an ILLUMINATOR ! :) There was no change after 3 minutes of constant rubbing with GooGone. The text seems to be very slightly impressed into the bezel vs. being painted on the surface.
