These 2 watches have very prominent visual elements in the same places. They look very much like each other, but nothing like the random Yemas and whatever else you posted -- none of those other watches have the triangular flanks (red in my images), and the trapezoid "connecting" the bezel and the bracelet (blue in my images) is inverted on all of them. The Grand Seiko Golden Lion chronograph is the only close one, probably because GS consciously recreated the old KS design.

Yes, they do. They're just more vertical in orientation. You're dismissing the Zenith's triangular polished flanks because the angle is more vertical, while completely ignoring the fact that the "triangle" shape you drew on the Seiko isn't a triangle at all. It's a continual line. You invented that 3rd "point" on the triangle that isn't actually there so you could have an argument.

EDIT:
- KS
- Series8
The Citizen is more angular, but they definitely look similar.
The SBGA405 was released in 2018 or 2019 with this case and it was preceded by other GS models with the same case:

The Astron line also features sharp triangles on the case. Example of the SBXC119 which has been out for a few years:

I’m sure there are other brands who have utilized similar triangular “flanks” on the case.

I edited my post to add video links, probably after you quoted. Watch the KS video. I am aware that the shape is not a proper triangle, but it presents as such -- it's a flat narrowing portion of the case which catches light in a specific way, before curving.

I am dismissing them because they are tiny and completely dominated (visually) by the angular bezel. When I look at the KS and the Series8, the first thing I see are these "triangles". When I look at the Zenith Defy, the first thing I see is the bezel. And the portion leading to the strap/bracelet is an elongated hexagon, not a trapezoid -- because the triangles are tiny and do not cut off that particular facet all the way from top to bottom.

Thanks for the extra data points. They don't contradict my guess that Seiko may have drawn inspiration from an old KS case design for all of these.

The best example I could find is Zenith Defy -- not the modern one but the OG from 1969:

The diver is even closer:

Perhaps the original KS drew inspiration from the Defy.

The 1969 Defy predates the wild KS Vanac which were out in the early 70s.

On the topic of the new KS Vanac, the case is similar to the Vanac 5626-7180:

Here's what it would look under an aftermarket flat crystal:

I like the old one a lot more than the reissue. The bracelet, the crystal, the dial -- everything was more distinctive.

The return of the stylized “Alpinist” on the dial and those Speedtimers are (y)(y) especially the latter.

Forgive me, but those Speedtimers…… as far as I can see they are just a 3 hander with a rotating inner bezel, or am I missing something?
I thought the same thing. Like, "Wait, these are not even chronographs...?"

Something to do with the countdown bezel?

Don't get me wrong - count me in as a fan of countdown bezels - but if you're going to do something interesting with another internal bezel design, seems a GMT with 24hr bezel might be the more obvious choice, with more potential sales.

If only the Alpinist didn't have the ugly cyclops*, those speedtimers are wonderful though. *all cyclops are ugly
I thought it was common knowledge that those cyclops are removable.
