Hello,
starting to be more and more inclined in wearing small watches.
are there any guys here wearing an op34 ? I tried one and was pleased with the result, however I think the former maxi case reference would be better.
do you have pics to share ?
my wrist is 50mm wide.

The current production OP 34 (124200) wears considerably smaller than the previous version or the classic 34's like the Air King, OP Date, and Oysterdate. I think it's targeted more toward the women's market with a daintier case and bracelet design

Worth mentioning that many of the original men’s Rolex bracelets for their 32-34mm watches came with a 14mm taper.

If you like the look, don’t talk yourself out of it. People tried to tell me my 34mm Tudor Oysterdate would be too small, 2 years later I still think it’s the perfect size and wouldn’t buy a millimeter larger.

My first Rolex, bought new in 1987 was a 34mm date. I was fine with it for a number of years.

I don’t know if the salesman suggested it because I was a small guy or it was the least costly Watch he could find to sell to me. Those days, many models were in the store..pick what u like and walk out with it.

over the years, I grew bigger (not taller😛) and the watch felt and looked small..I had moved on to 40mm as my choice Size.

i rarely wore it and sold it a few years ago….mistake..but my gfriend didn’t want it

my wrist is about 90mm

if the size works for you, I’d buy the watch..years of use with no issues…youve got a Rolex That won’t cost you an arm and leg and not have to play the bs Rolex game

id think it would have a great look on your size wrist.

sorry I sold mine..it would look good and be a nice memory in my watch collection..you always remember your first😎

As with most things watch related, it depends on the particular watch. Here is the later model 34mm OP Air-King (no “Air-King” on the dial, longer minute hand) ref. 114200 on my ~7” wrist.

Here is the 36mm Tudor Prince Date Day ref 76200:

And here these two are side-by-side:

You can definitely see the difference in lug-to-lug, but the overall dial/bezel combo is nearly identical. Not surprising, they present on the wrist about the same.

Here is a side by side of a 34mm Air King and a 36mm Explorer, both of late '90s vintage. The Air King wears on a 19mm Oyster bracelet, while the Explorer uses a 20mm. Besides this, there isn't enough practical difference in case or dial size to even talk about. I don't feel under-watched with either of them on my 7 1/4" wrist.

I have the 124200 and it is indeed smaller than the previous 114200. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that dial color really matters! I tried the blue first and it felt downright dainty. I got the silver which a) wears a bit bigger and b) has much more of a vintage aesthetic (dial appears a faded champagne color in most light - due to the YG hands/markers reflecting off of it) which lends itself to a smaller watch.

Fairly recent photo of my 114200 which I've owned nearly 5yrs. On some days it feels a little small (6+3/4" wrist) but mostly it wears like a charm and I think has a certain class. As others have said, this older model has more presence than the current one; the white dial makes it appear a little larger, too.
I'm enamoured with it and even though I'm currently in the market for another, much larger Rolex, I won't let this one go.
