I like those pipettes, thanks for the link. But, I used a plastic straw as one with no fuss or mess. My wife found a perfect size glass container with a stopper cap for small parts, but I just saw these and might order them: 2 Benchtop Benzine cleaning jars 1oz. for Benzine, One Dip etc
I think that type of jar is same as these, Glass Jar Cosmetic Cream Lots of sellers on alix of what look like the same jars.
I got these, 10PCS 3/4oz 22cc Glass Airbrush Bottles, also sold many places on alix. I thought being designed for paint they would seal well. They are good for small parts, but too narrow in the mouth (21mm) to fit large parts.

The white foam seal on these seems to work for naphtha but doesn't stop one-dip, trichloroethane, from evaporating. I used a scale to repeatedly weigh the jars over a period of days to see how fast the solvent was evaporating.

I researched seals for trichloroethane and found fluoroelastomers are what to use. So I got a sheet of 1/16" Viton A rubber and cut out a gasket. It worked at first, but then after several days started to leak. Seems like the TCE eventually go to it. So try 2, I trimmed the viton gasket, which had gotten larger, and put some aluminium tape, the kind used for taping insulation panels, on it. That seems to have slowed the leak rate quite a bit. Note that the metal jar the one-dip comes in isn't that well sealed!

99% IPA is also hard to keep in the jar. The Viton gasket worked well for that.

Thanks for offering up info and links for these jars.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the jars I ordered was they looked like some form of cosmetic jars. As you pointed out, the seal is the major component when using solvents. I'll let ya know what I think when I get them.

The airbrush bottles look good, but I think they might be just a bit too small for my needs. It's a shame they don't seal better also. But, thanks for sharing.

On the other hand, a "Benzine" jar for the bench isn't intended for permanent storage of solvents. It's meant for much smaller amounts and footprint. To clean/rinse parts for a few movements and then replace soon. At least that's the way I intend to use one.

The bottle my wife gave me is 1" diameter x 2 1/4" tall, including stopper. I've had no evaporation yet. I have a very small amount of solvent in it and plan to use it mostly for cleaning shock jewels/chatons. The larger jars I ordered would be for bridges, plates, levers, etc. when needed.
