Thanks for the reply. I think (emphasis on think) I finally figured it out. Found only one who ships to Israel for free (otherwise shipping is more than the price of the clasp!). Here is the link- would appreciate if you can verify best guess if this will work for my OEM Grand Seiko Skyflake strap: 16/18/20MM DEPLOYMENT BUCKLE BAND CLASP FOR OMEGA SEAMASTER PLANET OCEAN STRAP | eBay
It says it's made for OMEGA SEAMASTER PLANET OCEAN STRAP, and I think I have the size right at 16mm. What I really want is an upscale model that is reasonably priced and that has a good way of tucking a bunch of strap underneath. The seiko strap is exceedingly long on the long side with a ton of overhang, so it needs to be nicely secured underneath. THANKS!
You can find the them here for half the price - 7.08US $ 27% OFF|16mm 18mm 20mm Pointed Deployment Buckle for Omega Rubber Leather Watch Strap Black Rose Gold Stainless Steel Butterfly Clasp|Watchbands| - AliExpress

In terms of a good quality versions - the best one is the OEM Omega version. All the other ones are comparable but just fall short of the OEM quality. I hope that helps.

By the way, this type of deployant would not work with your OEM Skyflake strap because there is a "fixed" keeper. Ideally you want straps that measure similarly (i.e, 100mm x 100mm in order for it sit nicely on the wrist). If you need pictures, I'll try to show you some.

Thanks for the response- much appreciated. That one looks just like the one I ordered on ebay. Now, your last statement (btw) has confused me further... do you not think it's possible to tuck in so much extra strap length? What do you think the issue will be. The OEM strap is a very lopsided 130 long end and 65 short end, but my wrist is only 6.5 inches, so why can't I just fold all that excess under, as I only need approximately 75mm on the long side- so it should not be too lopsided. Do you think there is no option to find a clasp that works with this strap where I can fold the excess under? That would be really depressing, as it's an expensive strap that matches well with the watch and i would hate to have to shelve it forever. Thanks for your help!

I like the Artem deployants. I have one from Artem and I have a few just like it I got from AliExpress and I can’t tell much difference other than the price. With this type of deployant I suggest you go with a custom strap maker. Have them delete the keepers and the slot for the buckle pin which makes for a much cleaner look. It’s also good to get the length right on the long end for your watch and wrist so you don’t have much excess tucking under. For the strap below I had a custom croc strap made from site sponsor ZicZac Leather. Another I have used is TkachCraftCo on Etsy. Both do excellent work.

Just received the $7 AliE deployant that @dfwcowboy linked to above. Super irritated that I got one with a knock-off Omega logo, but I otherwise can't complain because it provides a good sense of how these fit, which I kept reading was an issue with small or even medium sized wrists and regular straps.

For reference, here are some pics and notes. First, I've got a 17mm (6.75") wrist. Second, the straps are long (125mm/85mm) but the vintage Doxa they're on has a very short (34mm) lug to lug, which eats up some of the extra length. Third, the strap is about 2.5mm thick. A 3mm strap wouldn't fit and something thinner than 2mm might be too loose, for reasons I think are clear from the pictures. Fourth, I don't mind the position of the clasp, which is separated from my wrist by that extra strap length anyway. Hope all that helps someone.

Weird -- the link disappeared from the post. Here it is again. The pic below is of an 18mm, but I have a few in 16mm and they work great. Just be careful of the thickness of the strap for reasons evidenct in the second picture.

Is it comfortable? I like how clasps hide the long side of the strap under the short side of the strap.
