The Vacheron Constantin FIFTYSIX® Collection offers 3 models with prices starting from CHF12,700—almost half the next most expensive watch in the line-up.

Vacheron Constantin has introduced their most affordable range to date  – known as the FIFTYSIX®. Three models with prices starting from CHF12,700, they are almost half the next most expensive watch in the VC line-up.

The new FIFTYSIX Line Up

FIFTYSIX is modelled on a historical model, the ref. 6073 that dates to 1956, hence the name. Featuring unusual integrated faceted lugs, along with a screw-down caseback and luminous hands, the ref. 6073 was also one of the first self-winding Vacheron Constantin watches, powered by the cal. P1019 supplied by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

The FIFTYSIX® collection presented at SIHH 2018 comprises three 40 mm diameter models available in various steel or gold versions:

  • Date
  • Day of the week, date, power-reserve indicator
  • Complete calendar with precision moon phase

FIFTYSIX® Complete Calendar With Precision Moonphase

The FIFTYSIX® complete calendar model is the collection highlight. The indications of the day of the week, date, month and moon phase are driven by a self-winding movement, Caliber 2460 QCL/1, equipped with a 22 carats open-worked oscillating weight adorned with the Maltese cross emblem. Its construction and its extreme precision mean that the moon-phase function requires adjustment only once every 122 years (compared with once every three years or a standard moon phase). The FIFTYSIX® Complete Calendar in steel (pictured) (ref. 4000E/000A-B439) is priced at CHF21,200 while the rose gold (ref. 4000E/000R-B438) is CHF39,100

FIFTYSIX® Day-date With Power-Reserve Indicator

The day-date FIFTYSIX® with its 40 mm-diameter case in steel or 18 carats 5N pink gold provides additional functions driven by its self-winding movement, Calibre 2475 SC/2. Equipped with a stop-seconds device, the latter powers the day of the week indication appearing at 9 o’clock, the date at 3 o’clock and the power-reserve display at 6 o’clock.

The 22 carats gold open-worked oscillating weight visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is fitted with a ceramic ball bearing rotation system requiring no lubrication and guaranteeing the movement’s longevity.

This version features a monochrome dial with double opaline-sunburst effect, enhanced by the additional contrast of its two snailed counters. Gold Arabic numerals, hour-markers and hours & minutes hands punctuate the dial of this FIFTYSIX® model, teamed with an alligator leather strap secured by a polished half Maltese cross-shaped steel folding clasp or gold pin buckle, depending on the version. The FIFTYSIX® Day-Date is available in steel (ref. 4400E/000A-B437), (pictured, priced at CHF19,000 or in rose gold (ref. 4400E/000R-B436), at CHF35,500

FIFTYSIX® Self-Winding

The 40 mm-diameter steel or 18 carats 5N pink gold case of this model houses a brand-new mechanical self-winding movement, Calibre 1326, endowed with a 48-hour power reserve. It’s equipped with a date and a stop-seconds device.

This model in the FIFTYSIX® collection is fitted with an alligator leather strap secured by a polished half Maltese cross-shaped steel folding clasp or pin gold buckle depending on the version. The FIFTYSIX® Self-Winding is available in 18k rose gold with a silver dial (ref. 4600E/000R-B441), priced at CHF21,200 or in steel with a gray dial (pictured) (ref. 4600E/000A-B442) at CHF12,700
