Hi all, I've been looking for a steel bracelet for the Alpha Milsub. The Nato was looking a bit beat up since I wear it everywhere (work, yardwork, sleep; no shower though). I went with a $20 President solid steel link with regular clasp. I don't really like the invisible clasp design, like on...
  2. Affordable watches
I purchased a used Alpha Milsub and I when I received it I started comparing it to the Rolex 5517 Milsub. There were several differences that I noticed and the more that I researched in the 'Affordable' forum, the more I started looking into modding the Alpha Milsub. Below are the items that I...

Hello friends, It's been ages since I posted here. I think it's been 2 years. I hope all is well with everyone. I am thinking about getting a steel bracelet for my Alpha Milsub (good watch, almost 4 years now). It's currently on a Maratac nato which is really comfy for someone with small...

Watch was worn maybe a handful of times and the rest was kept in a watch case, thus no scratches on the crystal or case. The horrible stock strap was thrown away and replaced by a DeBeers NATO bond strap ($17). Comes with the original AlphaUSA green pouch. $60 (watch) + $12 BOND NATO strap +...

I bet you seen a handful of these posts lately. Well, I went ahead and regulated my Milsub. Originally, Dial up was +25 sec but now I got it right on the dot. I can't tell how much I'm off since it is exactly running in sync with time.gov. As far as I can tell, it may be +/- 1 sec but will need...

Hi all, I had my milsub for about 6 months now. One thing that used to happen before was that after setting the time and pushing the crown in, the second hand would jump a few seconds. Recently, it stopped doing that i.e. no jump after setting the time. What happened? Also, sometimes I hear a...

It's been a month so far and its going good. I tried the crown up/down thing and I belive that crown up is better than down for this one I got. After 6 days, it gained 1 minute 24 seconds (84 sec) or about 13-14 seconds a day. Now, I'm pretty sure that when I check in the evening, the gain was...

Ok, I got the pics of the Milsub. Almost a week since I had it and it's going well. It's on an olive drab Nato strap Next to my Seiko 5 So far, all is good. There seems to be slight fraying on my Nato strap. Maybe a little heat will keep it from getting worse. This watch is one that kept...

Hi, What is the official accuracy rating on an Alpha Milsub movement. I looked around but couldn't find the value. Thanks

I have watches that cost more than 10 times this watch cost but it gets constant wrist time. The lume is sufficient enough to get through the night, the fit and finish on it belies the cheap price I paid. The jubilee band is a bonus that just completes the look. This watch rocks.
