Up for your consideration is an Alpinist I picked up early last year from this sales forum. It needed a service and was with my watchmaker for about 6 months as he waited for new gaskets to arrive from Japan (thank you COVID). It arrived back with me a few months ago and I have only worn it...
Up for sale is the now discontinued and beautiful Seiko Alpinist Sarb017. This beautiful watch is in immaculate condition (LNIB). This watch was purchased last year and only worn twice at home, just can’t get any wrist time.

This is my fourth sales post here, my others being here, here, and here. I've also bought two watches through the forums here. I have a long history on Ebay as miasma88, although that is mostly as a buyer.
For your consideration, my SARB017 Alpinist with box, papers, original unworn...

I have a SARB017 that I purchased not too long ago from Amazon. I've been doing 24 hour accuracy timings using Toolwatch and I've been getting readings that are all over the place. One day its +24 the next day it's -13. I decided to test without wearing the watch, and the same thing...

It seems that there are two options for the SARB017, the JDM version which can be purchased from various sources, and a U.S. (or worldwide?) version, which apparently comes in different packaging, and can be purchased in the U.S. as far as I can tell only from Amazon.
Any thought's on these two...

That's pretty much it. Not looking to spend $500 on the older SARBs, and would happily spend $650-$700 for the newer blue SPB
Knowing the watches accuracy would be a plus. Happier with a leather or NATO band, don't want a metal strap.

Here’s the SARB017 that I lusted over for years. Bought one a few summers ago, loved it then, still love it now. This and other forums have waxed poetic about this watch for years, so you know all about it.
This particular specimen runs about 15 seconds fast a day on...
Have a new watch coming in so gotta make room. Letting go of my Seiko Alpinist SARB017 with a brand new 6r15D movement, put in by Seiko Service Center in NJ back in August. It is in great condition, with a few hairline marks on the bezel, which I think gives it some character :). There is...
Do Seiko lume varies a lot on different watches? For example, I am trying to find out how close lume match is between SRP775 and SARB017 models. If anyone has photos of lume of these watches that would be a great help.
P.S. If this post belongs to a different sub forum, please don't...
