Can anyone on this forum confirm how thick this watch is. I will have to travel a long way to examine one in person, and would like to better understand the dimensions before I commit to that. I know that all the marketing blurb says “case thickness 13.08mm” but is that just the thickness of the...

Hello everyone, I would like to know the thickness of the older generation PanoMaticLunar (don't know if it actually was called that), referenced: 90.02.02.02.04 I know it is 39mm compared to the 40mm, and I've read that the 40mm version is about 12.5-12.9mm (3 different sources measured it...

So with the new release of 9RAX calibers, and the focus on being thin, I'm trying to figure out exact dimensions. I've come across some conflicting information. The 9RA5 when it was released mentioned that it was able to reduce the thickness from 5.8mm to 5.0mm compared to the 9R6...

Hi Everyone I’m in the process of making a custom watch for me and I’m new to the world of watches.i know a person who makes cloisonne enamel watch dials with thickness 1MM.He said to me that normal watch movement and case doesn’t fit 1mm dials. So request you to provide your suggestions in...

Recently discovered this gem and seriously considering pulling the trigger - https://www.keepthetime.com/product/dubey-schaldenbrand-gran-chrono-astro-moonphase-triple-date/. Amazing usage of dial space, and beautiful case back. I posted a couple of pics below I know TGV raves about his...

    1) Case Width. I love the look of many watches and then find that they simply look ridiculous when on-wrist. The modern trend for large watches has gone too far. I often see forum posts from proud owners of a new watch ...their watch is too large for their wrist - but how can you tell them when...

Hi there, I’m not an AP expert and I might be asking for something that doesn’t exist, which is fine too, but wondering if anyone could clarify/help me a bit with his expertise. At the moment, on the royal oak steel range you can buy 3 different sphere sizes: the 14500 of 37 mm (only with the...

I'm comparing the thickness of different movements, and I'm wondering, how exactly are they measured? Does the measurement include the protruding pin that holds the hands? When, for example, Miyota claims it's 9015 is 3.9mm thick, does it include that?

Just wondering is a movement can be thicker than its watch's mid case. If so, how does it stay secure? I imagine that the mid case would need to be thicker than the movement, minus the rotor. Is that right?
  10. Dive watches
When considering the size of a dive watch, how thick does do the walls of the mid case need to be? I'm working with a fairly large diameter movement, but I don't want the watch diameter to be too large. I'm hoping for about 500m WR. Any ideas about approximately how thick the mid case walls...

I got requests from few members about the comparison between 2254.50 and 2538.20 in terms of thickness so instead of PMs i decided to create this thread for the benefit of others as well. GW is little bit more thicker then 2254.50 but not a whole a lot. Both watches fit perfectly on my 7"...

I'm looking into having a laser-engraver make a dial for me (it would most likely be for a 6497 or 6498 if that matters for this question). I'm not sure what kinds of metals are common for this purpose (brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminum, anything else?) Also, I'm not sure what thickness...
  13. STOWA
I want a Stowa....badly. I've narrowed my choice down to the MO and the MA (no date). Main motivation apart from their simplistic beauty is to have a clean-cut, quality, every day watch which is lighter and THINNER than my Breitling 50th anniversary Navi. The Breitling is beautiful...

Hey guys, I love the Marathon GSAR... it's pretty much the perfect watch with all it's specs... except for the 13.85mm thickness! Can you guys recommend a similar watch that isn't so thick or top heavy? Thanks! PS: Marathon GSAR Specs Movement: ETA 2824-A2 Signed Marathon Dial: measures...
