Anyone know anything about this one? I've seem descriptions of similar watches on Ebay listed as WWII Wehrmacht watches, but haven't found this exact model. Not sure what's inside since I don't have a tool to open the octagonal case back. The patina on the dial is beautiful, but sadly It...
My Longines Weems L2.608.4 is a reissue of a second-setting pilot watch made by Longines for the US Air Force during WWII.
In 1929, US Navy Captain Phillip Van Horn Weems in conjunction with Longines (and Wittnauer) developed the Weems Second-Setting Watch for nautical navigation. It had a...
I decided that 2018 would be the year for beautifying the Sinn part of my watch family (856 - U1 - 903)
After offering a new wardrobe to my Sinn U1 in January I began to think for a strap for my 40th birthday's Sinn 903, so I contacted Maxime Peyrache (Xamlam) , a leather...
...I read "somewhere" that there were other companies, besides Rolex, that gave watches to allied prisoners during WWII.
Does anybody know which ones? (also any other related info - eg about other wars - would be welcome).
I purchased this strap at a local military show a few years ago. It appears to be hand made/machine stitched brown leather with a brass buckle that reads "@STA-WITH" or "@STA-WITE", hard to tell due to the corrosion. Any thoughts if this is a military watch band and/or from the 1940s?

It is on a...

This is my first posting, I usually come across this forum when doing research on watches and finally decided to join! I recently picked up this Eterna watch from an estate of a WWII pilot, but I am uncertain if this is a military watch, as it does not look like any of the other Eterna...

Hello WUS family and all the WIS out there... I'm hoping that someone can help me out a bit. My grampaw served in the US Army from 1942 through 1946, and in the liberation of the Philippines. Unfortunately, he passed away before I could truly appreciate him or his service.
Can anyone tell me...

This is my second FS offer here, a great and interesting German Pilots watch from the WWII era.
The watch shows wear, chrome pitting but no humidity or water damage.
The timepiece itself is a magnificent piece and at 42mm a really really large one for the period, it has all original...
