Hey all,
I was called the other day to come look at this P/W. It's a 1886 Model 3, 18s, 16j, local to me private label. I got it for a reasonable price, fairly clean, runs well. My crazy question...it is a key wind, lever set, that being said, it also winds via stem. Is this normal, or a conversion of some type? I do not believe I have ever had a P/W with both winding features, but again, I am not a pocketwatch guy. Thanks all in advance.

While I'm not that familiar with Columbus watches I did poke around on line and found that they did produce an 18s Model transitional movement that was both key and stem wind. Here's a link to a completed auction to one. Here is a link to one in the same serial no. range as yours listed in the PW database.
