Chapeau, Manera, very well done |> As you said, quite a few nuances that can be changed, but the general idea and layout is just great.Manera said:
Sorry for the delay, work was unexpectedly demanding this past weekend. A quick rundown: four scales (external seconds, a 'blank' scale, middle minutes, and interior hours) and a dash of colour! It was suggested in an earlier post to use one of the middle scales for historical text or text specific to this project but my vanilla-CAD wouldn't allow for text along curves... so I opted to leave the middle scale blank.
Now seeing this layout, I think it affords many opportunities for design nuance... but I'll wait to see the vote results before taking it any further. Thanks, Manera.
This is nice.... Thanks Manera.A 1 hand dial, yeah!!!! : )May I?

You are an Artiste!
If the majority favours this design, you have taken a large step towards our goal.
Who do you consider to be an unauthorized person at this point in the process? The problem is that many people have signed up conditionally based on what the theme of the watch will be. Because of this I haven't bothered to fill out a registry list yet - there's hardly any point when people will drop out because the theme doesn't turn out to be another B-Uhr.How do you prevent "unauthorised" people from influencing the outcome?
What do you mean by "clear through"? Are you going to start a new registration list? How about people who have already registered?Once the theme has been decided I will clear through he REGISTRATION thread and start the registry; all future votes will require that you have signed up for the project.
If anyone feels differently about this, please voice your concerns now.
If someone stated that they were only interested in the project if it was about a "Flieger" design and the theme vote picks something, I'm not going to add them to the list. Some said their participation was conditional on cost. We have a base price, so it's up to those people to decide if that price is out of their 'range'. Anyone who registered free of conditions will be added to the list. What do you mean by "clear through"? Are you going to start a new registration list? How about people who have already registered?
I can almost guarantee you that most of those voting will not end up buying the watch. The only solution to the issue that you're raising is to collect deposits from 50 people and only let them decide on the design of the watch. However, I've learned from experience is that a good design will always sell. Even if there are over 200 people involved in the design process, the end result will still be a design that 50 will deem worthy of buying.I worry that people cast a vote and influence the outcome of the ballot (and have no intentions of joining the "lucky 50")
Thanks for sharing Uwe. Am curious, how big is this watch, and of what make? CheersJust adding a quick photo of my "earlier version" B-Uhr as an example of the "B-Uhr - Design based on older B-Uhr designs that pre-dated the current Laco designs" category.

47 mm. It's a one-off from Steinhart, but the dial came from a Czech forum's project watch. They had decided to recreate an early example of the B-Uhr and I think they did a really nice job.Am curious, how big is this watch, and of what make? Cheers
Thanks Uwe. Indeed, it looks nice and well executed. I'd say 47mm is just right, the one I've seen from Tourby is at 42mm, and has 0 at the 12 o'clock. Too bad there's not much of this early design available out there. Cheers47 mm. It's a one-off from Steinhart, but the dial came from a Czech forum's project watch. Manera - do you have an email address? I have a restoration project and need your "dial skills"At Post#6 and counting, I figure I have some catching up to do with the group.
I'm happy to help/contribute any way I can.
