The 1970's SEIKO Helmet Chronograph, is highly collectible not only for its distinctive case & dial design, but also for the caliber 6139 movement it runs on.

This particular SEIKO Chronograph is widely known as the "SEIKO Helmet" or "SEIKO Vader" for its sizable rounded case with hooded lugs, resembling Darth Vader's helmet on Star Wars.

Its caliber 6139 movement is the first automatic movement in space & features a single register chronograph with flyback feature!

In 1973, Colonel William "Bill" R. Pogue, an astronaut on the NASA Mission Skylab 4, wore his SEIKO 6139 automatic chronograph on board - making the SEIKO 6139 the first automatic watch in space!
